Different Types :

• Direct fired : A direct fired HAG means it uses a fuel as directly to combust and heat the medium.
• Fuel is being burn and directy used to heat the ambient air to required temperature.
• This  type of HAG is more poultant and create more hazardous gases.
• Till it has high efficiency to get desire work output.
• It has normally 90% - 95% overall working efficiency. 

• Indirect fired : A indirect fired HAG is indirectly uses fuel to combust the heating medium. It should be air, liquid. 
• It does not creative any hazardous gases and cleanly supplys heat to a medium.
• It's design is more complicated than direct fired HAG.
• It has overall 80% to 85% efficiency. 

Fuel used for firing: 

• Coal fired
• Wood fired 
• Gas fired
• Light diesel oil fired
• Electric heater
• Steam heat exchanger

These are main fuels used to heat the air which thereafter used for further processes.
